Common Faults and Solutions of Digital Ultrasonic Testing Equipment

 1. Ultrasonic Flaw Detector Cannot Be Turned On

1.1 Battery - related Checks

Charge and Installation: Check if the battery is fully charged and installed reliably. Connect to a power adapter and try turning on.

Power Button Pressing: Press the power button multiple times with intervals no less than half a minute.

Power Adapter and Soft Switch: Connect the power adapter and repeatedly turn on the instrument power soft switch.

Battery Charging: If above methods fail, charge the battery for half an hour with the power adapter before turning on.

2. Ultrasonic Detector Automatically Shuts Down

The instrument shuts down automatically when the battery is too low to protect itself. Charge the battery or connect to a power adapter to resolve.

3. Ultrasonic Flaw Detector Has No Echo

3.1 Probe Connection and Setup Checks

Probe Connection: Verify the probe is connected correctly.

Probe Method Setting: Ensure the probe method setting matches the connected probe (single, twin, or penetration).

3.2 Probe Wire and Contact Checks

Probe Wire Condition: Check if the probe wire is normal and contacts well with the probe. Use tweezers to contact the inner core of the probe holder; noise indicates the instrument is good and the wire is likely damaged.

3.3 Parameter Settings Checks

Key Parameters: Ensure gain, display translation, probe zero point, and signal suppression are set appropriately.

3.4 Simple Solution for No - Echo Situation

Restore system parameters to factory state, connect a new probe wire to the straight probe, and test on a well - coupled thin test block. An echo indicates improper settings or poor probe wire contact.
