Best iThick-7000 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge manufacturer

Hey, everyone! Before using the iThick - 7000 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge, we must make sure we understand all the safety precautions and the condition of the instrument. This is not only related to the accuracy of the measurement results but also affects the service life of the instrument. Now, just follow my steps, and you'll surely be able to use this instrument smoothly.
1、Pre - operation Preparation: First, find a well - lit and stable tabletop to place the thickness gauge. If the light is too dim, it will be difficult to read the data; if the tabletop is not stable, the instrument will shake during measurement, and the data will be inaccurate. Then, check the appearance of the thickness gauge to see if there are any bumps or damages, and whether the display screen is working properly. Also, take a look at the probe. If there is any dirt on it, gently wipe it clean with a clean and soft cloth. After that, prepare the workpiece to be measured and clean the surface of the workpiece. There should be no oil stains, rust, dust, or other impurities, otherwise, it will affect the propagation of ultrasonic waves, and the measurement results will be inaccurate.
2、Install Batteries or Connect the Power Supply: If it is battery - powered, open the battery compartment of the thickness gauge and install new batteries according to the positive and negative pole markings. If you plan to use a power adapter, plug in the adapter plug and connect it to a suitable power outlet. Remember, no matter which power - supply method you use, make sure the connection is secure. Don't let it fall off and affect the measurement progress.
3、Calibrate the Instrument: After turning on the machine, don't rush to measure. Calibrate it first. Calibration is a crucial step to ensure measurement accuracy. Generally, the thickness gauge comes with a calibration program. Follow the steps in the instruction manual to calibrate it with a standard - thickness test block. Place the probe on the test block and adjust the instrument parameters to make the measured value consistent with the standard thickness of the test block. If the calibration fails, don't force - measure. Check whether there are any operational errors or if there is something wrong with the instrument.
4、Select the Measurement Mode: According to the material, shape, and measurement requirements of the workpiece, select the appropriate measurement mode on the thickness gauge. For example, the measurement modes for metals and plastics may be different; the settings for measuring flat surfaces and curved surfaces also vary. Selecting the right mode makes the measurement results more reliable.
5、Start Measurement: Apply an appropriate amount of couplant evenly on the probe, and then press the probe vertically and steadily onto the surface of the workpiece. Note that it must be vertical, otherwise, the measured thickness will not be the true value. And the pressure should be moderate. If it is too light, the probe will not be in good contact with the workpiece, and the data will be inaccurate; if it is too heavy, it may damage the probe or the surface of the workpiece. After the value on the display screen of the thickness gauge is stable, read and record the measurement result. If you need to measure multiple points, repeat the measurement operation at different positions in a certain order.
6、Data Processing and Analysis: After the measurement, organize the recorded data. If you find that a certain measured value is too different from the others, first check whether there are any problems in the measurement process, such as whether the probe is not placed properly or whether the couplant has dried up. If the measurement is determined to be correct, then it may be that the thickness of the workpiece itself is uneven. You can measure more points and take the average value to make the result more accurate.
7、Cleaning and Storage: After the measurement is completed, use a clean cloth to wipe the couplant off the surface of the probe and the workpiece, and then turn off the thickness gauge. If you are using batteries, remember to take out the batteries to prevent battery leakage from damaging the instrument. Finally, put the thickness gauge and its accessories back into the special storage box and store it in a dry and cool place. Then you can take it out and use it at any time next time.
